wild animals

Today we drove from central Kenya in Nairobi to the coast at Mombasa. We stopped along the way to see a few shops with all the same things- big carvings of giraffes, batiks and jewelry. We did see a few guys carving these detailed pieces of woodwork. To see them working with small axes and pic axes doing this work is astounding. Today also marked the first day of real wild life spotting. Camels running from their shepherds, baboons crossing the road and elephants eating dinner. Good fun all around.
Now it’s time to eat. Hallelujah!

Oh also I started and finished a great book called Assaulted by Joy by Stephen Simpson. It’s funny, deep, insightful and a quick read. I highly recommend it, especially for light travel reading.
